Born and raised in Oxford, Harry Fear’s television, radio and documentary work has taken him to 29 countries across the world.

Harry is best known for his reporting on the European migrant crisis and for his hard-hitting coverage inside the Gaza Strip (especially during the 2012 and 2014 Israel-Hamas conflicts).

For 2 years Harry worked as a UK and International correspondent for alternative broadcaster RT (formerly Russia Today), a controversial state-funded 24/7 news channel. He covered: several of France’s recent terrorism incidents; the historic closure of the Calais ‘Jungle’ camp; anti-migrant violence and the rise of the far-right in Europe; the Greek Debt Crisis; and Turkey’s ongoing crackdown on dissent.

Previously, he worked as a freelance correspondent and independent filmmaker. His independent coverage throughout the 2012 Israel–Gaza conflict, pioneering the use of wartime video streaming, was nominated for a Next Century Foundation International Media Award. His eyewitness testimony also appeared on the BBC, Al Jazeera and CBC.

Harry is proficient behind the camera and has a keen eye for videography and photography. In 2010 he filmed, presented and edited a feature-length documentary film, A Matter of Hope, about HIV/AIDS in South Africa.

Harry is also a keen public speaker and has spoken to audiences on five continents. He has delivered three TEDx talks (Challenging Realities, the Mainstream Media and You; The Globalised Heart; and Passionate, Political, Personal Development).
